Hawzah News Agency- In a message marking India's Independence Day, Hojatoleslam Abdol-Majid Hakimollahi congratulated the government and people of India, praying for peace, stability, unity, prosperity and ever-increasing progress for the country.
He described India as a nation with an ancient civilization and rich culture, noting that its cultural, religious, linguistic and ethnic diversity has given the country a unique position in the world.
"India's independence is the result of years of struggle, determination and sacrifice by men and women who worked for the freedom, dignity and pride of their country and devoted their lives to this cause," Hakimollahi said.
The envoy emphasized that national unity, mutual respect, tolerance and peaceful coexistence are fundamental factors behind India's progress, stability and prosperity, urging the preservation of these values.
Turning to bilateral relations, Hakimollahi stressed that ties between Iran and India extend far beyond diplomatic channels.
"Relations between the two countries are not limited to diplomatic ties; they are rooted in deep historical, cultural and civilizational bonds formed over centuries between the two peoples," he said.
"Particularly in the fields of language and literature, science and knowledge, and art and culture, the mutual interactions and influences of the two nations have created a shared and valuable heritage."
The envoy said this historical and cultural background can continue to pave the way for greater understanding, friendship and cooperation between Iran and India, pointing to vast potential for collaboration in cultural, scientific, economic and people-to-people exchanges.
"Iran and India should utilize their shared capacities and valuable historical and civilizational heritage to further expand the long-standing friendly relations between the two peoples and play an effective role in strengthening peace, development and prosperity in the region and the world," he added.
Hojatoleslam Hakimollahi concluded by praying for India's continued peace, stability, unity, welfare and progress, and for the ever-increasing dignity and pride of its people.
